How to Host a Beautiful (and Comfortable) Summer Event in Wylie & Dallas

A North Texas summer doesn't have to mean a wilted, sweaty party. With a little planning — and the right pieces — you can throw an outdoor celebration that stays gorgeous and keeps your guests cool from the first toast to the last dance.

There's nothing quite like a summer gathering in North Texas — long golden evenings, backyards full of family and friends, and that easy, celebratory feeling in the air. The only catch? Our summers can be hot. But with a few smart choices, you can host an outdoor event in Wylie or the greater Dallas area that looks stunning and keeps everyone comfortable. Here's how we help our clients do exactly that.

1. Start with shade

The single best thing you can do for a summer event is give guests somewhere cool to land. A frame tent instantly turns an open backyard or field into a comfortable, shaded space — and doubles as a beautiful architectural centerpiece. Add sidewalls if you want to run fans or A/C, or leave it open to catch the breeze. (Bonus: a tent also saves the day if one of those classic Texas pop-up storms rolls through.)

2. Keep the air moving

A little airflow goes a long way. Standing fans placed around seating and dining areas keep things breezy without cluttering your setup. Tucked near the edges of a tent or lounge, they're barely noticeable — until you feel that welcome gust on a 98-degree evening.

3. Time it for golden hour

If your schedule is flexible, lean into late afternoon and evening. The light between about 6 and 8 p.m. is soft, warm, and endlessly flattering in photos — and the temperature finally starts to break. Plan your ceremony, toasts, or big reveal for that window and let the celebration carry into the cooler night.

4. Give guests a gorgeous place to cool off

A statement backdrop isn't just for photos. Placed thoughtfully, a lush flower wall creates a shaded, picture-perfect nook where guests naturally gather. Pair it with a couple of lounge pieces and you've made a "cool corner" that's as pretty as it is practical — one of the reasons our flower walls are among our most-requested pieces.

5. Hydrate in style

Set up a dedicated drink station so guests can help themselves to ice water, lemonade, and something bubbly all night. A well-dressed table, pretty linens, and comfortable seating nearby turn "staying hydrated" into part of the experience instead of an afterthought.
